Finally, BCCI announced its Squad for 2024 T20 World Cup. KL Rahul has been out of the team while Gill and Rinku are in reserve. Avesh and Khaleel got a chance to board Team India flight to USA and West Indies.
After much of a brainstorming, the BCCI on April 30, 2024 announced its playing 11 for T20 World Cup along with reserves. It has been really tough for the committee to select the best out of best. There are lot of mixed reaction in the internet after the release of players’ list for T20WorldCup2024. Some are happy that Sanju Samson get the much deserving break. Even Shashi Tharoor congratulate the BCCI for picking an excellent team.

There has been a lot of discussion for selecting the teams that will be playing not just for today but for future. All-Rounder Hardik Pandya is kept as vice captain despite his low performance in IPL 2024. Sanju Samson finally got himself in the team.
The T20 World Cup will begin on June 2, 2024 in the USA and West Indies and a total of 9 Stadiums have been selected for organizing this world cup. There are many new teams in this world cup 2024. Be ready to witness some extra-ordinary talent from all over the world.
“There was a lot of debate over Hardik’s place in the squad while Samson was not debated much. Rinku was just unlucky. It was a toss-up between (Dube and Rinku with Hardik also in the squad,” a BCCI source told PTI.
India opted for a spin-heavy bowling lineup consisting of Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal while the pace battery will be led by Jasprit Bumrah with the support of Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj and vice-captain Hardik Pandya.
India are placed in Group A of the tournament alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and co-hosts USA. Their campaign begins on 5 June against Ireland at the newly-constructed Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York before they take on Pakistan in one of the most awaited matches of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
All teams are allowed to make changes to their squad until 25 May, after which any alteration will require approval from ICC’s Event Technical Committee.
